If you’re like us, you absolutely love award shows. To be clear, the best part is undoubtedly the red carpet. We live for the moments that our favorite celebs showcase their fashion statements!
With that, the 2019 Oscars were nothing short of spectacular when it came to fashion.
Lady Gaga was among greatness, being acknowledged for her role in ‘A Star is Born.’ What you might not have known is that Gaga’s gorg necklace was last worn by our favorite girl, Audrey Hepburn.
The necklace has only been worn one other time, before Audrey and Gaga. It is valued at $30 million and is complete with 128 carats. The diamond was found 140 years ago in South Africa. Tiffany & Co. Chief Artistic Officer, Reed Krakoff said that he was “thrilled” to have Lady Gaga rock the legendary piece.
Lady Gaga’s wardrobe choices were stunningly familiar (hello, Audrey!).
It was clear that Gaga’s choice of wardrobe was undoubtedly inspired by Audrey’s iconic ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ look. From the updo to the black dress, and from the evening gloves to the Tiffany & Co. necklace, we’d say she pretty much nailed it.
At nearly 5 million likes on Instagram, Lady Gaga commemorated the occasion with a post showing her gratitude to Tiffany & Co. as well as her respect for Audrey Hepburn. She shared a candid selfie wearing the beautiful jewels, and wrote about how she ended up wearing the famed Audrey piece.
Instead of debating “who wore it better,” we’ll just be over here fangirling the fact that Audrey’s legacy continues to live on. And, hello girl power, who better to do it than Lady Gaga?
